Key responsibilities/activities Seeking a dynamic individual to support communication strategies and community engagement efforts for our project. This role includes designing materials, managing social media organizing and participating in community activities and events and fostering positive relationships with stakeholders. Communication Strategies: Collaborate with the project management team, partners and stakeholders to develop communication strategies. Create campaigns to raise awareness and promote project goals to target communities. Manage PR, media relations, and social media platforms. Content Creation and Distribution: Produce and distribute media content to stakeholders. Offer guidance and materials for effective communication at workshops and meetings. Create and deliver monthly or quarterly media content to internal and external stakeholders, including drafting and editing communications copy (e.g. press releases, publications, newsletter and social media posts), to notify them of successful projects or initiatives and provide an outlook for the following month. Maintain SIP website and social media channels. Community Engagement: Plan and execute community engagement programs in collaboration with project partners. Organize and participate in community events to facilitate the establishment of Semporna Seas Community Action Groups. Conduct interviews and focus group meetings with local communities to assess baseline knowledge and attitudes toward fish bombing. Work with Community Action Groups to promote their identities and purpose within island/village communities. Capacity Building and Monitoring: Identify potential Community Champions and conduct training workshops. Establish monitoring teams within the Friends of Semporna Seas Community Action Groups to detect illegal fish bombing activities. Provide ongoing support for Community Action Groups and evaluate the effectiveness of established monitoring systems. Document all community engagement activities and prepare reports for SIP and EU as required. Requirements and Skills Preferable degree holder in communication, management or related fields. Excellent written and verbal skills Proven experience in fostering relationships with stakeholders Proficiency in coordinating efforts and devising strategies Experienced and skilled in producing diverse media content and handling social and website Have the ability to navigate diverse stakeholder dynamics Required experience 1 year or more Self-disciplined and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
